Safer Internet Day 2025 – “Together for a Better Internet”
The National Informatics Centre (NIC), Tamil Nadu State Centre, observed Safer Internet Day 2025 on 11th February 2025 under the global theme “Together for a Better Internet.” The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the safe and responsible use of the internet, especially among children, students, and the general public.
As part of the Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) Project Phase-III of MeitY, NIC Tamil Nadu organized an extensive awareness campaign across 30 locations in Districts, Blocks, and Tahsils, reaching 2,889 participants.
The event at Sivaganga District was graced by Smt. Asha Ajit, I.A.S., District Collector, as Chief Guest, who emphasized the importance of digital safety and cyber ethics.
State Informatics Officer and District Informatics Officers delivered informative sessions on topics including safe internet practices, cyber hygiene, common online threats, and reporting mechanisms for cybercrimes.
The campaign successfully promoted digital responsibility and reinforced the collective effort toward creating a safer and more secure online environment.
