Online Portal for Tamil Nadu Village Panchayat Tax Management

VP Tax Portal launch by Chief Minister Minister of Tamil Nadu Thiru M.K. Stalin on 26 Sept 2023

The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Thiru M.K. Stalin on 26 Sept 2023 has launched the online Application for Collection of various Taxes by Village Panchayats. The application was developed by NIC Tamil Nadu State Centre for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department of Government of Tamil Nadu and can be accessed at https://vptax.tnrd.tn.gov.in

Around 1.42 Crore Properties and 35 Lakh water connections are entered in the portal by Village Panchayat Secretaries who are posted in Village Panchayats. Point of Sales Machines (POS) machines are provided to all Village panchayats for easier tax collection. Citizen can pay the following Taxes
• Property tax
• Water Charges
• Professional Tax
• Trade License
• Non-Taxes
The taxes can be collected through the following ways
• Counter Collection
• Online Payment
• Point of Sales Machines (Cash, Credit Card, debit Card and UPI supported)

Citizen can register in the portal and can make the payment of various taxes. They can view the Tax demand, pay their dues and can download their receipts in Tamil also, as the portal available bilingually.

The Tax demand can also be accessed by citizen, either through their mobile number attached to properties or by giving the assessment number.
