Training on eKalaal Application for District Officials of the Prohibition and Excise Department, Government of Tamil Nadu

The National Informatics Centre (NIC), Tamil Nadu, organized a series of training programmes on the eKalaal web application (https://ekalaal.tn.gov.in) for officials of the Prohibition and Excise Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.

The eKalaal platform, developed by NIC, digitizes and streamlines core departmental functions such as approval, renewal, and management of various licenses — including RL (Rectified Spirit), ML (Molasses), Distillery, FL (Foreign Liquor), SP (Spirituous Preparations), and L (Liquor) categories. In total, 34 renewal services have been developed to support efficient Excise administration across the state.

The hands-on training sessions were conducted over three consecutive Fridays — 12th, 19th, and 26th September 2025 — in three batches, covering officials from all 38 districts. A total of 108 participants attended the sessions.
