Swachhata Pakhwada 2025 at NIC Tamil Nadu State Centre

The National Informatics Centre (NIC), Tamil Nadu State Centre, observed Swachhata Pakhwada 2025 from 1st to 15th February 2025, with a series of impactful activities promoting cleanliness, waste management, and environmental responsibility.
The fortnight began with the Swachhata Pledge, administered by the Director General, NIC, New Delhi, via video conference. Under the guidance of Shri M. Kamalakkannan, DDG & SIO, NIC Tamil Nadu, coordinated cleaning drives were organized across the State Centre, Secretariat, Ezhilagam, and District Centres.
Competitions on essay writing and poster making on the theme of cleanliness and community participation witnessed enthusiastic involvement from NIC officials and staff. A highlight of the observance was an enlightening talk on “Plastics in Our Oceans – Role of Citizens” by Dr. Pravakar Mishra, Former Scientist-G, NCCR, Ministry of Earth Sciences.
The event concluded on 17th February 2025 with felicitation of prize winners and a call to sustain cleanliness initiatives as part of daily work culture. The observance reinforced NIC Tamil Nadu’s commitment to a clean and sustainable environment.
