Mobile App for Karthigai Deepam Festival – Tiruvannamalai District, Tamil Nadu

Tiruvannamalai, a renowned sacred temple town and an important centre of Saiva tradition, hosts the grand Karthigai Deepam Festival, marked by the lighting of the Maha Deepam atop the sacred Arunachala Hill (2,668 ft). The festival attracts over 30 lakh devotees, requiring extensive administrative arrangements for crowd and service management.

To facilitate pilgrims and citizens, the “Karthigai Deepam 2025” Mobile Application was inaugurated by the Honourable Minister for Highways & PWD, Shri E. V. Velu.

The mobile application is an initiative of the District Administration and has been developed by NIC Tamil Nadu State Centre to provide easy, single-window access to festival-related services.

The app offers GIS-based navigation, location tracking, route guidance, and information on nearby medical facilities, police assistance, drinking water points, and toilets, along with general festival information.

The Karthigai Deepam 2025 App has received widespread appreciation from the public and has significantly enhanced citizen convenience, safety, and service delivery during the festival.
